 Bob
specializes in Impressionistic, Modern, Abstract
and Musical Theme art as well as Realistic art of aquatic, underwater
reef scenes and Tropical Floral art.. Bob was strongly influenced
by his father, Herb Schmitz, who was a successful commercial artist
from the “30’s
through the “70’s.
 Bob ‘s
art career originally started with sculpture. He later became interested
in painting aquatic scenes in oil and acrylic, gravitating toward
acrylic. A number of years ago, Bob began experimenting with Abstract
and impressionistic styles and began adding texture to his work,
creating a
mixed medium effect and a three-dimensional, sometimes bas relief
effect in his paintings, which has been described as “creating Sculpture
on canvas.”
 Bobs
latest works are abstract and impressionistic views of Jazz bands,
rock bands, individual musicians, orchestras, singers, mostly focusing
on musical themes. These paintings are signed with the name ANTON,
which is Bob’s middle name and his grandfather’s first name.
